Examples: ControTrace Elements On Vessels

These ControTrace Vessel Jackets operate under 569 psig (39 barg) steam at 480 F (249 C). The 10-foot diameter vessels, in Japan, are over 20 feet high. ControTrace Panels were selected for the application (a high-melting olefin) because they could uniformly heat the complete periphery of the vessels. The piping associated with the project was also heated with ControTrace elements.

12-foot diameter storage tank for hot melts uses ControTrace Panels heated with steam at 200 psig (13.8 barg) and 388 F (198 C). The panels on the bottom of the vessel operate continuously. The three rows of side panels are zone controlled by a level controller responding to the quantity of hot melt adhesive in the vessel at a particular time.

ControTrace Elements were selected for use on large storage tanks for phthalic anhydride. The heating medium was steam at 150 psig (10.3 barg), 365 F (185 C). Uniform heat application was a major reason ControTrace was selected for this application.
