High-Pressure Jacketed Pipe

In many high-pressure applications, designers often opt to use hub-type (Gray Lock) connectors with clamps for pipe-to-pipe connections in lieu of very heavy Class1500 or 2500 lb. slip-on flanges. Hub-type connectors are available in flow-through designs for transferring the heating medium directly from one pipe spool to another. In standard hub-type designs the heating medium transfer for pipe-to-pipe connections must be accomplished with external jumpovers as depicted at right.
